For many years we have thoroughly enjoyed the River Arts District Studio Strolls in Asheville. It is exciting to see the development of a tour in our area and witness the resulting community education and creative collaboration.

Guests are welcome to visit any of the studios, in any order, on this self-guided tour. Download a map from the EAST of Asheville Studio Tour website or pick one up locally to see the schedule for studio demonstrations and classes. It is a great experience to meet and talk to the artists and have the opportunity to ask them about their work. For those interested in shopping, most studios will have works for sale.

The fall 2011 tour features a wide variety of styles and media. Participating artists from Old Fort include 2 painters, 2 woodworkers, a basket weaver and a flute maker. In Black Mountain, artists craft their creations from wood, paper, ink & paint, fused glass, porcelain, clay, mixed media and photography. The map includes contact and website information for each studio (with links that work from the online brochure). This EAST of Asheville Studio Tour promises a great time and outstanding art...once again!
