This free, self-guided tour of artist studios in East Asheville, Swannanoa, Black Mountain, Fairview and Old Fort occurs twice annually in the spring and fall. </span></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">The first Tour began in 2006 with Maud and Austin Boleman of <a href="http://blackmountainstudios.com/"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Black Mountain Studios</span></a></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"> and 10 other artists, and has grown to over 50 participating artists. This season, the tour will feature 35 working artists in their respective studios with six of them representing our very own Old Fort! For many years we have thoroughly enjoyed the River Arts District Studio Strolls in Asheville. It is exciting to see the development of a tour in our area and witness the resulting community education and creative collaboration.</span></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">Guests are welcome to visit any of the studios, in any order, on this self-guided tour. Participating artists from Old Fort include 2 painters, 2 woodworkers, a basket weaver and a flute maker. In Black Mountain, artists craft their creations from wood, paper, ink & paint, fused glass, porcelain, clay, mixed media and photography. The map includes contact and website information for each studio (with links that work from the online brochure).
